UPS causing computer restarts?!

I know it sounds ironic, but that's just how it is. Ever since I bought my new UPS my computer kept restarting from time to time. The computer runs around the clock I never turn it off. On march first I had my first restart. Sadly, it was late at night and I couldn't fully observe it. Most have been that way. They've been getting more and more frequent, last one was a month ago when I was playing. All the UPS leds shut off at once then one lit back up. Tonight it happened again. The UPS made a clicking sound twice, and the computer rebooted.

During the time of these problems I have run memory scans, drive scans, and checked for overheating. Also, the system is set NOT to restart if it crashes so that rules out software failiure. I exchanged the power supply with a more powerful Thermaltake, that didn't do it either. All that now remains aside from PSU failiure would be the possibility of bad caps right? Or are there any other possible causes too? I checked the net my P4 Titan doesn't seem to have known design flaws, could it really be that the UPS - the very thing that's supposed to protect me - is causing this? On the other hand, when it comes to protecting against power outages or fluctuations it does its job well. It's a Mustek PowerMust 1000 USB.

sound like the ups is at fault here buddy. the clicking sound is the ups switching from AC power to battery backup - something it shouldnt be doing unless there is a blackout or something. it should keep a steady flow of power to the pc even if it does this, so yea. UPS = faulty

send it back under warranty if you can.

or else test the batteries - as these are the easiest things to go on a ups & are easily replaced

Doubt it's the batteries since it's relatively new, but yeah it does so often happen that the UPS clicks for no reason, but the computer doesn't restart.

Also make that TWO restarts today, in less than 2 hours, though it didn't click then. I think it's starting to say its goodbyes before it breaks down for good, luckily I still have warranty on it.
