I really, really need to what's in this archive. It's the only existing copy of photos of me and my fiancee from when we started dating because my memory card has failed.

I've been planning something for a very long time to propose to her and I need these photos desperately! I cannot stress how important it is! :(

The RAR archive is encrypted and I've tried every password I can think of, but none of my regular ones work. I swear it's my file and my photos in it - I'm actually them after all.

I do have one of the files in the archive and I think it might even have the original filename.

Please, I really need this. I don't have much money, but if someone could do this I could prove it's my archive and pay you afterward. It would mean the world to me. Thank you.

Well, I haven't seen anything that would decrypt a passworded rar file, if it's even not-corrupted as you hinted to that fact. Did you try to enter leaving it blank? Grasping at straws here as I never encrypt my rar files. I hope somebody else here can help you further than my measly attempt. Good luck!

If your computer still sees the memory card, it may be possible to retrieve them. When plugged into a card slot of the computer, does a drive letter come up?

No luck with any of the tools I've found. :/

I've heard there are ways to open an archive if you have one of the files in it, which I do, but I can't seem to find anything that does it.

The utility to find the password if a file is know only is used on a zip password recovery. The only way to find a rar password is with a brute-force or dictionary type password recovery program and that would take a very long time if ever depending on the length of the password. Do you still have access to the memory card with the files?

That is very bad news. Can someone verify that this is the only way to recover the files or password? Thank you.

Also, I have tried to undelete the files from the card. They seem to have been overwritten when I used my card to move a few huge files to another computer.

I recovered a lot of "corrupted" files but when I view them with a hex editor, I can see occasional JPEG header information.

Is there a recovery program that will scan all sectors and look for BOF/EOF or JPEG headers?
