Ive never really installed hardware before. Anyhow last night I tried installing a new 250gb hard drive into my computer, along side my 40gb hard drive. I was planning to clone the whole 40gb hard drive onto the 250gb.

I just about squeazed in both hard drives and set the 40gb to master and the 250gb to slave (I think???). I turned the computer on and went to bios setup. There it said that all of my drives including optical drives were not installed. I quitted bios and the computer started up again and asked to boot from a floppy disk.

I took out the 250gb hard drive and put everything back to original and the same happens, it shows that all of my drives are not installed.

    I need help pleeeeeaaase!!!!

Check all of your cables....IDE and power. The IDE ribbon cable must be connected to your motherboard IDE controller...make sure its firmly seated. Make sure the power connector to your 40GB drive is connected and that the master/slave jumper is set to master.
