    Hi
The virus that the iPod has makes all the files become icons, somewhat like the ones on the desktop; this makes it imposible to access the files since it just say that they are icons when you double click them.

It's my friends iPod and she just saw this virus yesterday when she got the warning with "Avira Antivir Personal Free Antivirus".
She is a school teacher and has all her record files there and doesnt have enough time to do all of them again, so please help as soon as posible.

    Thank you.

I presume you caught an infection on the ipod which has spread to a computer? If so then you need to follow these procedures

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

Also worth giving this a run.

Please have all your removable storage devices ready for disinfection.

Download Flash Disinfector by sUBs and save it to your desktop.

    • Double-click Flash_Disinfector.exe to run it.
    • Your desktop and icons may disappear. This is normal.
    • It will do a cleanup of removable storage devices, and write a protected Autorun.inf file to help prevent re-infection.
    • Follow any prompts that may appear.
    • The utility may ask you to insert your flash drive and/or other removable drives including your mobile phone. Please do so and allow the utility to clean up those drives as well.
    • Wait until it has finished scanning and then exit the program.
    • There will be no GUI interface or log file produced.
    • Reboot your computer when done.

Note: Flash_Disinfector will create a hidden folder named autorun.inf in each partition and every USB drive plugged in when you ran it. Don't delete this folder. It will help protect your drives from future infection.

Its not exactly the computer thats infected, the thing is more or less like this; my friend used her iPod and computer normally and used the iPod as an external hard drive for backup, but yesterday she connected it to a computer at her school and when she connected it back to her normal computer the antivirus said that it was infected, she hasnt run the antivirus on it, but she cant access her files either.

So would just running the antivirus on the iPod would solve the problem? or is there another better method.

Yes try that and also the flash disinfector.
