3 times a day for the past two days, my sygate firewall has been giving me this warning:

    Somebody is scanning your computer.
    Your computer's UDP ports:
    1900, 10700, 12850, and 38363 have been scanned from 192.168.1.1..

That IP is than blocked for 600 seconds. But I am curious, what is that? What is it scanning, and is my privacy in danger?

    This may answer your concerns.

    Under options, general, checkmark
"Hide notification messages" , you can still check things out in the log files if you want to.

Sygate also has WHOIS built into it. You can use it to back trace to see who is doing the scan. It is very common for your own ISP to be scanning you. They do this for many reasons, quailty control, billing(some ISP's charge for the actual time on the net) and system maintenance to name some of the most obvious uses.

The IP address you provided is a typical address used by a router. It is quite possibly your default gateway.

UDP port 1900 is used for SSDP (Simple Service Discovery Protocol) - some one is broadcasting to see who is out there.

As far as I know the other three ports are unassigned.
