URL symbol characters (tough finding a good title - sorry)

    Ok, I'm assuming this is the right section to post this, hopefully someone will be able to help me out.

    When a URL contains spaces, it is usually represented as %20 (as far as I can tell)
    I'm trying to dig out some information from a load of URLs and all the %20 and others are really making it difficult to see the useful information.

    Is there a list (or alternatively, can anyone tell me) that shows what the different codes really represent (%3A %AE and so on)

    Apologies if the language I've used is a bit confusing here - I'm not sure what the correct terms for these things are.

    There is a URL encoding utility that you can use to convert characters into their encoded equivalents.
