Url's not reacting

Hi Guys

No idea where to post this thread but here's hoping someone out there can help.
Currently using WIn 7 and IE8 but recently when I click on url's within emails or otherwise there is just no reaction. I have to copy and paste link before it reacts.
On the other hand when I use Mozzila Firefox, there is no problem.
Can anyone suggest a possible cause why this is happens in IE.
Any further will be supplied upon request just in case what I am trying to convey is not clear.

You should not be clicking links in email. That said, check under tools, safety options in the newer IE8. "Restricted sites zone (more secure)" might be default, change it to "Internet zone".

If that does not work, you can uncheck "Block images and other external content" although this adds a small security risk, BUT under that is "Show images and external content sent from email addresses in my Safe Senders list" and make sure the people you trust are safe senders.
