    I'm still trying to figure out why I keep getting this message
    High-Speed USB device attached to Non-High-Speed USB hub
    every time I connect my external drive:-o It started after reinstalling xp (service pack 3).

    When I open up device manager I get (see attachment). I googled my computer and I think I'm supposed to have USB 2.0 ports, but I can't tell from what device mgr. tells me which ports, if any and if not all, are USB 2.0.

    If I do have ports that are USB 2.0, can anyone tell me how I would know which ones they are supposed to be, and if I still get this message even after changing ports does that mean I need to find a chipset driver, and how would I go about finding the correct driver?

    Thanks for your patience on these silly questions - faster data retrieval from this drive would be king!

    I have a DEL DIMENSION 4400, with service pack 3, now I get a message every time I connect to any (all) of my USB ports ;

    This devise can perform faster
    This USB devise can perform faster if you connect it to a
    Hi-Speed USB 2.0 port.

    For a list of available ports, click here.
    Now as I recall this message did not appear before? So do I now need hardware
    or software to fix this problem? is there a free download?
