    I Have a motherboard with 2 usb 1.0 slots
So I bought a usb 2.0 PCI card But the computer can not detect the card.
I tried new drivers, change of PCI slot and re-install XP2 Nothing works.

Also, try a different PCI slot.

Can't find Bios plug-n-play OS. I only found Integrated Peripherals - Onboard PCI device setup - USB controller enabled. Does this mean I need a bios update?

Load defaults but no help. Computer can't detect usb 2.0 pci card
I have an Epox motherboard 82845 chipset with an award modular bios v6.00PG
The program Astra32 mentions under motherboard DMI/SMBIOS version 2.2 -
    Does this mean anything?

Have you tried forcing the computer to detect the new card with the Add/Remove Hardware function in the Control Panel? :)

assuming your computer has xp, you will need service pack 2 to help enable usb 2.0

Please read the entire post. He already has XPSP2!

There are only two more things that I can think of at the present time. Have you checked the MB manufacturer's site for updated chipset drivers? Have you tried deleting all the USB controllers in Device manager, rebooting, and letting Windows redetect them? Please make sure that all USB devices are unplugged before doing so.

Maybe it's just a bad card?.......Can you try it in another computer?

He has already tried another card. See reply #5. Could be a dodgy card as well, but the problem seems to be elsewhere. Motherboard/BIOS? Bazza

    Sorry missed that one.

Was the other card same brand?

Whats the name of the card or trying to use?
