I have a XP and DVD-RW problem which is already posted but

I also have a problem with my USB 2.0 software I have applied the microsoft upgrade and still get errors for my USB hub. My external HD works but can this be the reson behind the DVD_rw not being able to write?

Besides the fact I cannot use the USB hub as well (USB not recognized error message with it.

Is the USB hub powered or unpowered?
Also, if the computer came with USB 1.1, software won't turn those ports into USB 2 ports.
If you need USB 2, then install a PCI card with USB 2 ports on it.
    example: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815106505
You might want to buy it locally because the shipping costs as much as the PCI card!

Well how do you tell if the USB ports are 2.0? Plus this laptops only 14 month old out of Bangkok so I would presume the USB ports are 2.0 comaptible I have also loaded the Windows fix for the 2.0
