usb 2.0

    My desktop only has usb 1.0. I,ve been trying to find driver updates
    for usb 2.0 or 3.0. I checked this site it sent me to other sites, and did not
    find anything. Can anyone point me to the proper site to get freeware updates.
    I,m running xp black with only 256 of ram on a Jankins tower.

    I know this will fix my wifi problem.

    The USB ports are hardware, you can not change into USB 2 or 3 by software methods.

    If you want faster USB ports, you need to install a card with USB ports on it.

    The other, more costly options are to replace the motherboard or buy a newer computer. USB 1 was replaced by USB 2 in 2000. How old is your computer?

    256 MB RAM is also extremely low to run XP SP3. You should have 512MB or 1GB RAM.
    Perhaps the limitation on the motherboard is also 256MB RAM.

    Thanks for the info I,ll replace the usb ports.

    The tower is for 2001.
