USB 2 driver

hello people, i just built a new computer and it runs windows xp pro service pack 2. Everything is working fine but i just can't make the USB 2 working. When i put in the motherboard's cd and search for the USB driver, it only gives a text file saying that you have to install service pack 2.
But after i installed the SP2 it still didn't work. I've tried manually updating the driver but that didn't work either . The drivers on the net are not compatible with winPro SP2. (I've downloaded and tried both the 14 MB zip and the 10 MB zip)

and yes my motherboard does have USB 2.0 ports

Is there any other way that I can get it to work?

**I've been thinking that it might be possible to manually add the needed files or something like that but i didn't know the list of needed files

Hi

Did you install the chipset/motherboard drivers for this motherboard? as to correctly configure the chipset for specific functionality, such as AGP, USB, Core PCI, and ISAPNP services, these drivers are needed, they should be on your motherboard CD.

but if you cannot find the correct ones let us know that your motherboard model and make is.

Also enter your BIOS and check the settings for USB2.0 or USB and make sure they are enabled.

Thank you Halo, i never thought of checking my BIOS. USB 2.0 host controller was disabled there. Problem solved!
