Usb 3 Not Working.

Hi there. Hope someone can help me with this. My USB3 ports have stopped working. They transmit power, so I can still use them as a device charger, but won't send or receive data. I have checked Device Manager and I get the following: Unknown USB Device (Device Descriptor Request Failed).

I have tried uninstalling the device and rebooting, in the hope that the device will be reinstalled correctly. Have searched for new driver but evidently I have the latest available driver.

I have a desktop PC running Windows 10 64-bit. I built the system myself and it has been running without a hitch for nearly 5 years.

 

I have have had similar experiences,and it was down to the usb devices not being cleared of previous usages.
