   Who makes a reliable usb to usb bridge cable? Are the ones on Ebay good? I'd like to have full control over transferring individual files from a laptop to a desktop.

   Most of the USB to USB transfer cables are fine they are a much of a muchness, kinda like HDMI cables not worth spending a fortune on them as they all do similar job ok.
   
   
   Do you have a router? if so think also of transfering data via ethernet as its very quick.

   As halo stated, there are very limited performance variations in the "Higher End" more expensive cables.
