Hi! I have a problem: my USB CD Drive doesn't register on my Win10/64 laptop. The drive is plugged in; I insert a CD, and I wait for the CD to stop spinning, but the drive doesn't register on This PC or Quick Access Popup. What could be wrong, and how can I solve it?

Did it work before? Try a different C/D? Other than that, and guessing. Go to device manager and see if it's listed. If so, L/click on it to hi-light it. Then R/click and chose property's. See if an issue with a driver. Or does it say this device is working properly.

If not, go to control panel to find new hardware.

Other thing to try, un-plug it. Shut it down 1st. Restart the computer without it. Shut the computer off again and plug it in, and restart. See if it finds new hardware.

Someone gave me a C/D a while back with pictures on it. Same thing on it spinning and no go. I had to go to my computer and it was listed. Then chose explore to see them.

I'm so sorry I forgot to mention :( , but I got it to work. I unplugged the drive and then plugged it back in, and now it works. :)
