well, I'm Stumped, my problem started when my girlfriend tried to jailbreak her ipod touch(downloading quickfreedom
and firmware updates rolleyes) and now none of of the usb's on my laptop or hers work.

all the usb controllers have a code 39 (driver corruption) and when
booting after about 20 seconds after I reach the desktop, I get a blue screen/memory dump. :cry

    here's what I've tried:
-viewing hidden devices in device manager

    - disabling/ uninstalling and rebooting:
disabling cause COMPLETE CRASH (graphics skewed and frozen)
uninstalling and rebooting causes the system to try and reinstall
the drivers with no avail and then proceeds to crash into blue screen/ memory dump

after trying these I noticed that ALL my networking drivers are now in the same condition(code 39)

I'd give the specs of the laptops but I don't think that its hardware and I can't acces the internet on either laptop as now
both their networking drivers are corrupted along with the usb drives so I can't move files between my desktop and our laptops for quickfixes :(

    Hi

    What Windows version?

Have you uninstalled the jailbreak software?

Try a system restore to a point before the install of the Jailbreak software and see if that helps.

Go into the BIOS and disable USB that may allow you to get up and going, I would then update the driver reboot enable USB and see that does it.

    Hi

Have you rebooted since uninstaling the JB software? and also have you tried what oldphil posted on BIOS and USB?

If that doesnt work then System Restore is a good option at this point.

finally got it turns out libusb was not working properly, here what i had to do:

    run regedit.

    goto:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{36FC9E60-C465-11CF-8056- 444553540000

    Delete:UpperFilter,LowerFilter

disable and enable your devices from device manager.

now it working i just have to figure out how to get my wireless drivers back up but now that the usbs work it shouldn't be much of a problem.

All network drivers Corrupt; 2 computers

]ok... so i've been working on this problem for a good 3 hours now and can't seem to find a solution.
you see my girlfriend trying to jail break her iPod downloaded some wierd stuff and installed on both my and her computer, after doing this the usb ports had a "code 39" error (driver is corrupt or missing).

I've fixed this but now on both laptops none of the network drivers are working. they all have code 39's

from doing a little searching it seems that many people are having this problem due to malware(no rly?) affecting "ndis.sys" file,
unfortunately i don't really want to screw with something that can give me a blue screen without being sure of what to do.

they say you have to replace the file but some say it gives them constant BSOD's and have to format, recovery does not seem to work. i don't mind formatting but my girlfriend has some important school stuff on there so that not an option for now.

I am scanning using malware bytes now and will try to replace the file ndis.sys once i find where i can download it for vista sp1
