USB Drive Autoexec

    Is there anyway that a program/file on the usb drive could be executed when the device is inserted into the computer? I'm sure there is some way... perhaps autorun.inf

    This is not the answer, this allows property changes (and some other unrelated stuff). It allows auto run but only as an autodetect, I need a specified program to be run on detection

    thanks for your help but I was asking for a program that need not be installed on the computer before hand. aka plug in on a friends computer and image per say pops up without anything

    According to MS documentation, autorun functionality for USB-connected devices *is* off by default.
