USB Flash Drive Problem

I bought a 2 GB USB drive barely a month ago. It got infected by a virus through my university network and because of that I couldn't access it directly from My Computer. I used AVG antivirus to remove the virus and it did its job but I still couldn't access it directly. That's why I decided to format it after which it did work. However, when I woke up the next morning to use my flash drive again, it had stopped working. My computer (and others, too; I checked) began to recognize it as a disk drive and kept asking me to insert a disk into the drive. The Properties window is also telling me that there is no space in it anymore. I was wondering if there was anything at all I could do to fix this problem. Please feel free to ask if you need any other details that might help.

Thank you for responding so quickly! However, my USB drive still isn't working because the software I was linked to couldn't do the formatting. Each time I tried to run it, I got an error message that said 'Can't find device! Please replug the device.' I've tried running this program on another PC and it came up with the same message so I know it's not just my PC that is acting up.

Is there anything else that I could do? Some other software - like the one I was linked to - that I could use to solve my problem? Please help me!
