Sorry if this question has been asked before. I had a look around but couldn't find anything.

I have a western digital my book 500g harddrive (usb 2.0). It runs fine with my laptop but I've recently finished building my pc and when I connect it to the pc and try to copy files I get an error saying "the requested operation could not be performed because of an I/O error. " Browsing through the files is fine. It's only when I go to copy that there is a problem

It only happens with certain folders. Usually ones with files the pc doesn't know how to open in them. I tried the hard drive in different ports, ones connected directly to the motherboard and ones on the case, I tried copying over the same files I was having problems with with my laptop and two other pcs and there were no problems.

All the latest drivers are on my pc already.

    Anyone have any suggestions?
