usb hdd problem

    I have a Dell poweredge 2850 running server 03. Im trying to hook up an external hard drive to it but im not having much luck. i plugged it in and windows loaded the driver and everything just fine, but right after that its now giving me the safely remove hardware note. Any ideas whats going on?

    Figured it out. The external drive was trying to use a drive letter that was already in use. Went to Control Panel > Administrative tools> Computer Management > Disk Management to change the drive letter of the usb drive.
