USB help

Hi

I have a problem with my USB Flash Drive.

I was trying to transfer files from my old computer, to my new one. The drive already had some files for my husbands work on it.

I added a compressed folder to the drive, and have come to my new computer to get the files off it, and it is telling me that the drive is not formatted. In the drive properties it is showing up as RAW (not sure if that has any relevance)

I'm not so much worried about my files, but my husbands documents he needs to take to work on Monday cannot be lost .. is there ANYTHING at all I can do to fix this?

Have you tried the flash drive on a different PC just to see what happens? Flash drives can do strange things. I have a 2gb flash drive that I use daily. Sometimes I put it in and the PC says "USB device has malfunctioned" and I'll try it in another port on the same PC and it'll work; or it'll say "drive is not formatted" and when moved to another port it's fine. I've used both of these with great results. PCInspector is slow, but very thourough. Easy Recovery Pro is quicker, and as long as the drive has not been overwritten, the files should be recoverable. I think the file allocation table has been corrupted somehow and therefore Windows thinks the drive hasn't been formatted.
