Are there any errors or unknown devices etc in Device Manager?

Have you updated your motherboard/chipset drivers?

i dont have the mobo drivers and it says unknown device for anything i pulg in...thats the only error, i had got it to work fine......for about 10 mins that is then it's back to the way it was, do you think installing my chipset drivers would help that?...if so what chipset do i have(i have a dell precision workstation 420)

When you remove the device, do you right click the remove hardware icon in the taskbar?

Also, when your usb camera isn't plugged in, do you see the driver in the device manager? What about when you select "show hidden devices"?

yeah most times i dont even have to right click to remove it cause i get the unknown device message, no there are no drivers in the hidden drivers for my camera or any other usb device ive installed....i even went as far as installing a pci usb card and even thats doing the same thing(if i disable my onboard usb and disable the card then enable the card it'l work for a short period of time)....is there any way this has something to do with my irq assignment or maybe it's just my board screwin up?
