Okay, so I had a virus that infected and corrupted some drivers and now I can't boot up Windows. My PC is made by Gateway and most likely has an OEM OS. I was wondering if I could do a repair install from a USB without a CD. If so, how?

I can't find a Windows XP disk anywhere, the only places I can find them sell them for way too much. $75 for Windows XP, seriously? Since I most likely have an OEM version would I have to use an OEM version or could I use a retail .iso and use my CD key. I tried using WintoFlash and I got a "NTLDR is missing" error.
I assumed it was an issue with the iso itself and not WintoFlash.

    Greetings, Recycle Bin.

One other thing you might try is downloading and burning the XP Recovery Console .iso, see if you can repair the OS.

    I'll try that.

If that doesn't work then I'll try having a friend burn the XP iso instead of using a USB.
    Maybe that will work.
