USB Ports corrupt? WTF?

Right, I recently had big problem with windows. Still have it, it take ages to load up... Now I finally get to my desktop after system restoring back and back to my first windows installation (recent, so dont worry about old windows stuffs) and all my USB ports wont work. I checked on add/remove hardware and it says that the drivers are corrupt and I need new ones, only I have no clue as to where to get these drivers...
Help? Please?

 

welcome to the forum ,windows has usb drivers onboard if your usb drivers have been working from the moment you installed your os you should try rolling back the driver or let windows search for a driver on your computer if you dont get any joy,not usually fav place to look for driver but for something as simple as a usb driver let windows connect to the internet and look for it

Considering the problems you have had though I would consider a full reinsatllation of windows

Okie dokie,
I have a Windows XP Home SP2
64 bit AMD 3000+ (not over clocked)
1 gig of RAM
80 gig HD
754 pin motherboard
and all the usual stuff herein.

 

Windows XP with no service pack had issues with usb 2.0, make sure you have at least service pack 1 as that may cause problems.

 

Mattski already has XP Home with SP2. (see specs in post). Bazza

thas right. Now Ive got somewhere, Ive got drivers installed but I need to restart. I really dont wont to cos I know my wont boot again

 

what did you try,wheredya find the drivers?

 

I uninstalled the drivers and let add hardware do it itself... didnt work anyways...
