usb ports going out, or mouse going out??

hello, im using a 3 yo laptop and eversence i moved my room around, my mouse keeps cutting out and stops working. ive had the mouse for 2 years and it connects through the usb port.

when the mouse stops working i unplug it and insert it into the other usb port and it starts working again, then a while later it stops working again.

i think the mouse is starting to die, but not quite sure, im going to use some more usb devices to see if they stop working...
