USB ports-mouse playing up

I have tried different mice,my pointer appears to freeze any old time :confused
I have tried installing new drivers,they are up-to-date.
Are their any kind of virus that attack that area specifically?

 

If you talking about a brief pause every 20-60 seconds, that could be a problem with some specific software running on your computer. AVG 9 used to cause that on my computer. To discover if that is the case, open the task manager and watch CPU usage when the pause happens to see which service is doing it.

If my suspicion of the problem is wrong you will need to provide more detail of the problem.

 

Along with shnerdly's suggestion, you might take a look at this thread. Have you tried using no 3rd-party drivers, just the generic Windows software?

 

I do use AVG,it might be that,how would I bring up the task manager without a mouse?
I am also using Firefox,it does apprear longer than seconds though?

Can you boot into Safe Mode? If so, does your mouse then function correctly?
