Usb ports Stopped responding

Hey there

I have a dell inspiron core i5 5110 model, there are 3 usb ports .. one espacially for mouse control and other two for simple usb purposes, it so happened that the later 2 usb ports stopped working, i tried uninstalling their drivers and re install them but there is no effect at all, however when anything is attached to those ports, their lights blink, mentioning that they are connected but they dont work and i m worried cuz i need those usb ports for different personal daily purposes. thanks

What Windows version and Service Pack are you using?

What devices are you plugging into those USB ports? just curious as if they are data storage devices as in USB Pen and External HDD then you may have a conflict in device drive labels and that can be cured via this HERE (change to XYZ or something not ABC)

errmmm i m using windows 7 64bit service pack 1

ermm i am connecting usbs .. mobile for charging and data storage, a joypad and they all work fine from the one working usb slot

well thanks for your solution link but it will work only if those usb ports will detect .. the problem is they are not detecting anything .. :|

Hi it should do if USB ports are not recognising the devices.
