usb ports

I recently had driver updates and now my usb ports are not working. When my computer boots up I get this message " xfilt.sys. " for VIA IDE Controller is missing. When I try to use my scanner the computer doesn't recognize that its on.

 

Hi Baldyd, and welcome to MGs!! It appears that you need to re-install your VIA chipset drivers for your motherboard. First of all, are you running a 32bit or 64 bit OS? And what OS is it? Also, if possible, do you know the #of you chipset? For example, KT400. Here at MGs, we probably have the VIA driver that will go with your machine, but some work with 32bit only and some work with 64bit only. Just want to make sure we get you the right one!
