This might be out of the normal scope of questions usually posted here due to the nature of the printer....

We have an HP Designjet 9000s printer and I am trying to figure out how far I can put it from the CPU without losing signal quality.

I have been told that anything over 10' will need a "booster" box connection but then was just told that I could go up to 100'.

Then, if I can go farther than 10', where do I get the proper cable?
Where can I find a "booster" box if needed?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

the max without a hub or booster cable is 16 feet I believe. I've never used one of those booster cables to extend length but I have used a cheap generic Staples USB hub to extend the length of cable to a laser printer. That might be another option for you especially if you have use of the extra USB ports.
