USB Protection

1. I need a software that will protect my usb from getting infected by a virus.
(The best one out there that you can recommend)
2.I need a portable USB scanner to be installed on my USB
(The best one out there that you can recommend)

Some USB sticks have a switch to set as read only, maybe the best defense.
USB scanner as in? portable AV / malware scanner to check the system or just the USB or both?
Can you give a little more insight to what you are trying to do?

 

This is something I have been trying to figure out as well, but so far I haven't figured this out yet.

The USB switch idea is good, if the USB drive has a switch but most I have seen do not have any such switch.

In my case i'm looking to have a USB drive to be used as a fix-it / scanner that has all my tools (portable apps) for repairing a windows based computer. The problem I ran into was while fixing someone's computer one of my recovery tools was flagged and removed by Norton.

The idea I had was to perform all updates needed at home, lock the drive in some fashion, as to be read-only, maybe if it acted like some type of CD type and then I would be able to run the tools I need without the anti-virus from being able to remove them.

I am currently using BitDefender USB Immunizer. I am using USB Guard before with USB and PC vaccination. But i still got infected by a virus coming from a usb although it was scan by Malwarebytes and Avast Free Edition.


About the Portable Anti-Virus. I need it to be installed on my USB so whenever i use a public computer, atleast i can give a scan.
