USB Question

where do you hook front USB ports to on the mobo the motherboard i am using is a ASUS-P4S8X-X thanks for any help i just need to know where do i plug them in at on the mobo

 

the more straightforward answer: your computer should have come with a rear usb bracket with 2-4 extra usb ports that slip in with the videocard, soundcard, etc. unplug one of them and plug in one of the front ones.

less straightforwards answer: look in the manual and try to find the usb connector on your motherboard layour. somewhere in there is a diagram that tells you the label of each connector. there is your answer to where each little wire plugs into.

from what i can find, page 30 has the diagram you'd need to hook up a couple usb headers for the front of your case. yeah. it was a bit ambiguous because of the wording, but yeah. there it is.

 

ok now can you anwser this for me i hooked up the front usb ports and when i did it disable the 4 usb ports on the back of the mobo what now lol?

 

lol... oooooooooooooookay. never saw THAT coming. are you sure you hooked them up right? other than that, i don't know
