USB that is not recognized!

My Dane-Elec 8GB USB has problems. There was a power outage and everything came up on my USB as alien code. I ccould not excess it. I downloaded a low format program from Cnet. Reformatted and it for a day worked and now, when I go through my computer to the d: drive it tells me it is not formatted. When it offers to format it, it than tells me that it can not be formatted. However, whenever I insert it in the USB port the computer tells me that it's there.... OKAY.... I need help as I live on a ISLAND with out much entertainment and this USB is mine... eg, movies, music, pictures of my family back in the US and my Dog! I really need your help... PLEASE and Thank you. :cry

Try downloading and running Undelete 360:

No guarantees; however it's worked for me a few times on corrupted USB drives and SD cards.

If you put that in the address bar of your browser, you will get a popup to run or save. Select save and before you run it, scan it with your security programs to be sure it is clean.

If this is the same program you downloaded from CNet, then I suspect something is wrong with your Dane-Elec 8GB drive since it seems to get corrupted.
