USB Wireless Router Suggestions Needed

Hello everyone...Looking for a USB Wirless Router for my laptop...Just bought an account with the Pilot Truckstops WiFi and haveing problems with week signals...I drive a truck over the road and need a router to pickup hotels, motels, and truckstop WiFi....Any suggestions on a brand of USB WireLess Router that would ive me more distance....Say 100-200 yards or at least the best one....Thanks, WhiteWolf

 

This is more of a question for the hardware forum, but what you're looking for is not actually a "router". What you need is a USB wifi adapter, not a router. Anyway - semantics and wrong forum aside, what you'll be looking for is something that mentions "High Gain" in the description. If the wifi adapter has an actual antenna (instead of just little "nub" sticking out the laptop) on the end of a 3-6ft cable, that's even better. I've seen 'em, they do exist, but I can't remember any brand names at the moment.... I'll do some creative Googling and if I something more helpful, I'll post it!

There are also extension cables available for the 2nd one I listed above so you could run it from the "bedroom" in your truck's cab, out the window, and stick it on the roof either with some velcro tape, or a suction cup "sticky" from the dollar store, or the base of the antenna may even be magnetic (many of them are).
