usbhub20.sys not included in sp2 cabinet(i386)

i have a problem... i need to update my usb driver... i have input the exact system file (usbehci and usbport) on it but the usbhub20 is not present on the sp2 cabinet file... the one which is on the cabinet file is only "usbhub.sys" no usbhub20.sys... i dunno where to find it...

your help will be a lot appreciated...

SP2 does not give USB 2.0 support, SP1 did. So it would make sense in that case.

Why do you think you need it? We need more details.

 

whoa... SP1... i have upgraded it from 2002(not SP1) to SP2...
i need the usbhub20.sys file because it is the only file that didnt came with the SP2 cabinet in Driver Cache. by the way... when i install the driver which is included in my mobo installer... it says that the INF used is for windows 95... maybe SP1 is the culprit...

 

i really need help... because i dont know what to do... ive installed the hotfix that Microsoft sent me but it didnt solved my problem... i have done everything (i guess) but there is no solution... damn this M$ SP2...:cry

 

What is your hardware? What gives you the message that tyou dont have SP2? Is aparticular device asking for the file when you try to use it? What is the exact message?

that driver is for Windows XP SP1
mine is SP2...

i dunno why SP2 doesnt include this driver since SP1 is included in this major update...

by the way...

i have upgraded my system to SP2 from Windows XP with
no SP...

XP w/o SP -> SP2 STRAIGHT...

i have updated everything...

its been 4 days (i think)

Ok, let me explain this again.

USB 2.0 support was included in SP1. SP2 includes what SP1 has as well, but some manufacturers do not use standard USB 2.0 controllers and hence supplied their own drivers. USB 2.0 support was not changed in SP2.

You will not find the USB 2.0 driver you need in any service pack. It is provided by the manufacturer.

So...with that said...if the driver is really denying you access due to SP2, and naturally, I cannot verify that, then install SP1a, then the driver, then SP2.

Can you elaborate on "delete"?

It makes a restore point, backs up previous file versions, and installs. It will not install over SP2, however, do you will need to remove that first.

 

so it means i should make a back-up of all of my files because... i will uninstall sp2 right...
