Use my TV as a monitor?

Right now, I am using a 15-inch LCD as a monitor, but the second I switched over to it from my 19" CRT, my ability in games took a severe hit, my average scores have dropped almost 60%. I want to toss this POS and get a new monitor (prolly gonna buy another 19" CRT-any recomendations?) but then I had a brainstorm: I don't use my TV for anything else (literally, I haven't turned it on in weeks), why not use it? My TV has Component connectors (you know, the red,yellow, white deals) and a coax connector (believe those are called BNC connectors). Right now my Video card has a port for VGA (DB15 cable), a port for S-video, and a port for a DVI adapter. Anyone know a way I can connect the two?

 

max resolution for a standard tv is 800x600, if its an HDTV it goes to 1000x700; so everything is limited to those resolutions. I've played on my HDTV but it really comes down to confort; it sucked playing on top of my bed w/a mouse + keyboard (wireless) and try to find a good position, sittin down made my back ache;plus having such a nice PC and limiting everything to 1000x700 was worthless.

With that said, I wouldn't want to use either as a monitor.

 

my bad i meant HDTV monitor, theres a couple of diff sizes for HDTV res.

 

OK, fine then, scratch that. Can anyone recommend a good 19" CRT?

 

Viewsonic A90F+ and the Samsung 997DF are both AwesomE monitors in my experience. Both of them can be had for less than 200 if you look too.
