Used power supplies?

I am looking for websites other than ebay for used power supplies for dell systems. I want to upgrade to a 300W supply. I am putting in a graphics card which requires a 300W supply.

 

You might not be limited to Dell-specific used power supplies.

Check your power supply for Model and Manufacture info, and do a search on-line. I needed a higher wattage supply for an eMachines PC I had - I searched found a new one that would suffice for several computer models that was actually made by the same outfit that made my original power supply - and it was reasonably priced. Below is a new micro-atx (like a lot of branded PC's have) that says it fits Dell systems - among others:

When I found mine, I made sure it would support my type of PC (P4) and even checked the location of the screw-mounting holes to see if they matched up to my old power supply. The link above is to a 320W supply that is PIII compatable . . . you didn't specify what kind of Dell you have. This might give you a few ideas, though . . . at least a starting point.

I'm wary of buying used power supplies . . . a bad supply can destroy your system (trust me . . . I know). Also when buying a supply, check out the manufacturer for any web-feedback concerning quality, etc. A really low-quality supply can be a killer also (although the brand for my e-machines didn't rate really well on the web - and it was made by the same company eMachines bought the original supplies from! rolleyes At any rate, it has run fine for over two years now).

I have a 350W supply I just took out after rebuilding my computer. I cleaned it out pretty good but there are a few dust bunnies inside. It is Antec brand. I will give it to you for a great price if you want to give it a shot. I have a perfect Ebay rating if it means anything. I was going to try to sell it there anyway. Let me know if you want to try it. If it does not work I can refund your money.
