How many of those fixes did you try? So the PC boots up and when you try to log in the error comes up? This PC is not part of a domain? (just checking)
Do you have a Win PE disk? What OS are you running?
I'd boot into a PE, regedit Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList & delete your profile key - then rename the user folder .OLD and try to log in - recreating a profile. Then copy the user.old files to the new profile (Docs, downloads, pics, music, desktop) do not copy everything from the .old profile, you could corrupt the new one.
I'd say to make a backup of the whole system (or just the User folder) before tinkering around.

There could be a chance they have embedded some drivers, but likely they just install all the extra bloatware that comes with an OEM PC.
You can have a cleaner install just using a Windows OS disk. Then go to Lenovo's site and download their drivers & tools for your model.

Boot key should be F12, you might have to disable secure boot in the BIOS too.
Might have to hit FN+F12 (function F12)..

Jonah and foogoo, I kind of have a similar situation with USER PROFILE SERVICE FAILED on an ASUS desktop that I was trying to do a clean HD reset.

Jonah, were you successful and able to resolve this dilemma?

foogoo, what is a Win PE disk and how do I get or set one up?

    Thank you in advance.

Please disregard the prior response. I was able to restart the computer reset process via SAFE MODE.
