I recently received a USERINIT ERROR and can no longer log on windows. I have tried installing the windows CD and going to the repair function and expandind userinit, but that did not work... I can only get into windows in safe mode and I am now getting a black screen with the error bcmwltry.exe-application error. I can get the task manager and that is it. I have read multiple forums that say this is malware and some that say I am just missing a file.... Any help? I am not very computer savvy

Welcome to MG"s. The missing file is from your BroadCom Corporation Wireless Network Software ..your wlan card.

I suggest that you post in the software forum for further assistance.

If you think this is malware related, then you need to do the following and start a thread in the malware forum and attach the requested logs. We work that forum oldest to newest, so have patience.
