Uses Spybot & now unable to open applications in win 98

I ran Spybot S&D yesterday on a cpu at work running win 98. There were several problems. After fixing the problems, I am unable to open any applications by clicking on them. I can open them if I open a document and that opens the program, but they will not launch on thier own. I get a message "windows can not find the program yrwiwjxq.exe this program is needed for opening files of type 'application'" I remeber seeing this .exe in the list of things to be removed by spybot. I tried to search that program in google and could not find it. I am unable to get anymore system info from this CPU other than the OS - sorry! Hope someone can help or advise!

First of all you shouldnt run programs like that at work. The reason, there are programs on there that track your activity on that pc and your boss uses them to see what your up to on there. They can fire you if your caught and some of those programs let you access the software. So i would suggest you restore those files and uninstall spybot.

 

I would restore the files but I can't open the program or anyprgram for that matter! Adware and Spybot run on the other CPUs at work that have inet access. Our engineer is aware of the problem but doesn't know how to fix it. Do you know what file opens applications and a place where I can DL and replace it on here?

 

Well thats the way my school is. I am just saying cause i know alot of places you can get in alot of trouble. Sorry if i annoyed anyone. I just didnt want anyone to get in trouble. But anyways, I think i have an idea. Try a restore program. (I dunno any offhand ) but that might help. Maybe ask your tech guy at work if he can upgrade you to windows xp so you can use system restore.
