Using a nic as a router

Hi guys, for work I had to build a practice server using windows 2000 server edition. The p.c. has 2 nics and they want me to use one nic as a router. Not practical I know but it's for learning. I'll be using active directory and assume I'll need to setup DNS and DHCP. Do I need RRAS also. I've googled and search here but couldn't find any help with this. Thanks in advance for any help.

 

Hmm I don't think you can use the actual NIC as a router, you'd need to be running some Routing software in the OS. Win2k3 has a wizard for configuring RAS where you configure the public connection and use NAT to translate and route to private clients.

I don't know about 2000 though, I've not had the chance to play for a good while.
