Run the software under windows 98 or even Windows 95 compatibility mode. Go to all programs menu , right-click on the shortcut, and select properties. Click on the compatibility tab and select an alternative OS.

is the camera plugged in when you install the driver? if it isnt I would have it plugged in and swithed on then install the driver.

reading up on Agfa's site and as they discontinued making and supporting cameras in 2001 you may not get it to work at all, their advice is to get a smart card reader so you can plug the cameras media card into that.

if the manual I read on your camera is uptodate and correct your camera uses the Compact Flash memory cards and the above reader will do Compact Flash cards plus as there are two types of CF cards type I & II these will do both... you'll just have to shop around for the best deals.

please check on if your camera uses Compact Flash or Smart Media cards before buying ;)

yeah dunno why it tends to work but strangly enough most of the time installing camera soft with the camera plugged in and on does work.... XP is a strange beast when it comes to Digi Cams .... on new cameras I advise not installing the cameras software as XP does tend to pickup most cameras ( Fuji Olympus Canon ) very well with its own mass driver and as most of us these days have GFX programs we dont really need the proprietry software that comes with our cameras, if it doesnt pick the camera up then it prompts for a driver disk anyhow.

as to your front USB connection do other USB harware work in them? if not its most likely not hooked up.
