    Hi guys.

Had my standard sony 15" TFT and then Along came my 26" Samsung HD LCD TV which i also have hooked up as a monitor. My Sony was on VGA and my samsung was well... theres a dvi slot on my gfx card as well as the VGA and then a converter that came with it to take the DVI to vga, so the back of the samsung has vga going into it n then changes into dvi. All ran fine....

Recentley upgraded my outdated n getting old 15" song to a 19" :D

It has a VGA connection and a DVI. Simpley replaced the screen n ran it off VGA. The screen came with a VGA lead and a DVI. Tried linking it up via DVI but it just wouldnt work, there was no input to the screen at all. Had it with the saumsung on VGA, n still nothing, could it be the DVI port on my new screen? Tried changing the source through the screen too.

Any help is much appreciated :)

    Benny.

It should work with no adjustments, i would check both ends of the dvi cable for any damage. ed

I do know that my viewsonic requires no adjustments, maybe the sony needs more, have you been into the sony menu? Maybe a setting for digital.? ed

As far as i know and have tried there are no settings for digital, there is however options for input 1 and 2, 1 is DVI and 2 is VGA, i have tried both of these and still had no luck...tis starting to annoy me now!

Thats my card tis a bit of and oldie and a bit rare, the white adapter featured on the left is whats needed in order to take dvi to vga. Looking at it and comparing it to the dvi cable that came with my new screen, it has less pins theres some on the left and right and non on the middle, and a few around the horizontal flat pin...such a pain in the arse.

DVI-D id just digital dvi ye? as i heard dvi-i is both?

    Found this thread...

Its showing my monitor( the image in display properties setting) as a CRT, is it normally like this? or should it show a flat panel?
