Using FlexiCD with Windows XP (Home)

I loved the W95 Powertoy FlexiCD when I was using W98 SE. and it "sort-of" works in Windows XP. But instead of a music CD starting when I put it in, it goes to the "Pause" mode, requiring me to manually get it started.

I've tried changing "/resume" to "/play" in the command line, made sure my drive Autoplay setting was to use FlexiCD, and deselected Windows Media Player (WMP) for mucis CD-ROMs, all without getting the desired outcome. Is there anything else that will get it to automatically start playing?

Note this is related to my previously posted thread, in case I'm stuck using WMP.

 

It's only a few kb in size. Zip it up & attach it here. I'm running other 95 powertoys on XP but that is not one of them. I'll give it a go & see what it does for me.

I'm running DESKMENU, DOSHERE and TARGET.

 

Well, while I was playing around, I appear to have corrected the problem, and I even think I understand how/why! When you install FlexiCD, it puts a shortcut in the Startup folder. But, when you set up AutoPlay to start FlexiCD upon recognition of a Music CD, having two simultaneous commands to execute the program seems to appear as though I had clicked on the icon in the system bar, putting FlexiCD into the pause mode. This came to light when I uninstalled FlexiCD, and the CD started as desired. I checked, and, sure enough, FlexiCD.exe was still there in the Windows folder, available for use by AutoPlay.

So, problem solved.
