Using "save as" to a USB drive"F"

I'm a newbie on computers. my question is If I click on a set of data and graphs in a web site using the "save as" function and save it to a USB disk . Does any of that information remain on my hard drive in my laptop or does everything, all files, history etc go only to the USB? Thanks

I would think the answer would be both "yes" and "no"...the data and graphs, any web page graphics and text, etc., should only show up on your USB drive - but, if your browser is being run by your laptop, then your hard drive will retain the history, cookies, and browser-related image place-holders, etc., until these files are deleted...

If security is at risk, you might try one of the portable browsers that can be run from a USB drive, which should keep everything separate from your laptop...

A quick addendum: even if you're using a portable USB browser, any web info is routed through the laptop's networking system, so there is still the possibility that info could be stored on the host machine...

Just to add to Calibran's post as I only have one more thing to add as he has covered what I would have said, is that if you are worried of any data being saved to a host PC and in temp internet files and cookies etc then use the likes of CCleaner to clear the temp and cookies from the PC, Cleaner also has a USB stand alone portable version HERE that will run off your USB pen, which is handy for PC s in public locations or PCs that you are not admin of and cannot install software on.
