Does V.92 Ready modem need a driver installed to make it V.92? Using XP SP2 OS, have PCI Soft Data Fax Modem with SmartCP (56K ITU, RD01D850/F63243049159R), have read that V.92 - with JUNO TURBO dial up - will allow incoming calls to be recognized by computer so that two phone lines aren't needed. (Live in very rural area, no DSL available yet :cry , satellite way too $$$). In my reading have come across information that says the modem will need a driver installed. Have researched and found what seems like the right driver but also have read that installing the wrong driver has the potential to render the modem useless. Here is the driver that I am thinking will work... http://www.driversdb.com/device.php?id=68943. Sure would like a vote of confidence before I install. Any assistance/guidance/wisdom/information greatly appreciated.

V.92 ready means the firmware of the device supports V.92, but a driver is still required to utilize the hardware.

Thanks for the clarification... can anyone assist with the driver? I have done my best to find the right one but would like to avoid the disaster of downloading the wrong one (have done a new restore point - just in case).
