VAIO screen issues

So I have a Sony VAIO notebook in front of me from about 2002 era (can't find serial or model atm). Anyway I am trying to figure out why the screen is not properly showing colors. The dark colors are light, basically it is pretty strange looking. I checked it on an external monitor and everything is good and I have reseated most of the connectors, if anyone has had this problem or knows of any solutions that would be great. Thank you.

yeh a photo be helpful

and check your display settings , make sure the color quailty is 32 bits or it might be a video card issue

i really cant say until i dont have the photo of what it looks like
