Vanishing Email

I run XP, and use Outlook Express for email. Recently I have started having a problem that I can't resolve. Emails come to the inbox. If I open them I can read them but if I move the mouse anywhere else (and click) or go to the next email (and click) it open it totally deletes the previous email. I can 't find where they are going and I would appreciate any help the geek minds could provide. Is there some setting for that type of action? HELP!

 

Might be a 'View' setting. Go to View > Current View and make sure that neither "Hide Read Messages" or "Hide Read or Ignored Messages", have accidentally become checked.

You want "Show All Messages" checked.
