    Hi,

I know I had a thread running before, but it's not much of help as there are other problems appearing suddenly.

For instance I occasionally get this: Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \windows\system\config\system32

I get a bunch of BSoD's, not including those over the last 2 months or so? By now?

Satrow has been helpful this far, but since other issues started appearing I thought I'd better make a new thread.

I had to do a few chkdsk /p and chkdsk /r recently to get the windows system file back in working order. Chkdsk said it found error and fixed them (didn't tell where those errors are).

Including the latest minidumps so far, hoping someone has a remote idea of what is going, or that I should take my system back to the shop ( 8 months warranty left :p ) Minidumps are from today, last night and yesterday.

I woke up to find my PC attempting to boot, but it couldn't find the DVD drive nor the USB.... for which it's not set up at all.

On-board sounds has been disabled. Got nothing wired up besides keyboard, mouse and monitor. No webcam or anything. Just the bare basics.

    Ran memtest, didn't show errors.
Ran WD-diagnostics tool, nothing found. Will run it again in a few minutes though.
    Adding specs as well.

I dearly hope anyone can help me out here.

    Hi,

I don't have anything new to add, having read your old thread, except to ask if you ran the extended WD diagnostic test? The chkdsk errors could be coming from having to hard restart but I just want to make sure you have completely ruled out a bad HD.

Ran the SMART and the extended test, both a clean pass.

Though I must add, I can only use those after I fix the missing file-problem / bad sector error with chkdsk.

I notice I am running low on options here, any suggestions left?

PC is going back to the store tomorrow.
Hopefully they can either figure it out and fix it, or they replace my system for an equal.

Had about 20 BSoD's since noon....

Sorry about the terribly late reply!

I've been back to the shop. They said it was a software issue and I had to reinstall Windows (AGAIN). So I did but surprise, it didn't fix the problem.

Decided to clean the PC while it's not in use and got the idea to switch the RAM to a different slot (again) and it's solved since! Running smooth without any issues at all! I guess the previous time I tried I didn't push it down firmly enough or something, as the problem persisted.

Going to write an email to the shop, telling the solution and that I demand my money back plus a new mobo, as it IS an hardware problem, and not software as they claimed.

Thanks again to all who've been thinking with me :D
