http://www.corsair.com/en/pc-cases/...c70-mid-tower-gaming-case-military-green.html Is the case im looking at buying, my question concern, is i want to have my buddy do some custom artwork on in place of the window. Any guides, tips or suggestions on how best to get a digitaly done image on the side of the case, ie printed and attached to the plexiglass? Etched into it? Just looking for some ideas and suggestions on how to best do this.

Depends how complex the graphic design or picture is going to be as to the best approach.
If it is just a simple pattern or simple design then you could digitise the design and get someone with a sign making printer to make you a sticker and either apply it directly to the case or use the sticker as a stencil after cutting the appropriate bits away with a scalpel and spraying paint over it then removing the stencil leaving your design.
If it is a picture then another possible solution is either buying a cheap airbrush on ebay and doing it yourself but you would need to be artistically inclined and know a bit about spray painting otherwise finding someone who paints murals on cars and asking them how much to airbrush your design onto the case. People who airbrush murals on cars can be found hanging around hot rod and modified car clubs and don't usually charge as much for something that is going to be inside and doesn't have to be weatherproof.
Some printing companies have flatbed printers that can print on a flat surface up to a certain size but these aren't very common and they usually charge a fortune for setting up and you basically get an ink jet image that they spray with a layer of clear coat.
If you are particularly artistic and good with a paint brush this would be the lowest cost solution but I am not very artistic and my writing and brush skills are s@#t house so this solution would never work for me rolleyes
Many years ago I made a nice stencil and went to the hardware store and got some enamel spray cans and put my design on the side of a case and after redoing it several times it still looked like an amateur attempt even though I have experience respraying several cars so it is not as easy as it seems to end up with something looking really good.

If I was doing it again, I would look for an airbrush artist that was within my budget and have them do the job.:cool

Hope this helps and good luck with your project;)

Cool that should be easy enough to do :cool
Prepare the box and if you are changing the base colour now is the time to do this. Once the box colour is what you want and has had plenty of time to dry (you will be putting tape on it later) you can prepare the stencil.
You can print your alias onto a piece of overhead projector film and then carefully cut out the letters with a really sharp scalpel or craft knife. If you can't get overhead projector film just use heavy paper instead. When you cut out letters like 'o' leave a sliver of film to hold the centre in place (this can be touched up with a fine brush later) so your letters are correctly rendered instead of a solid blob of paint.
After you are happy with the stencil place it on the case where you want your alias to be and then carefully tape it down. Use newspaper to mask off the surrounding area and spray the stencil from a distance of at least 30cm but probably 40cm as you don't want the film around the edges of the letters lifting from the gas pressure coming out of the spray can. Several light coats is much better than one heavy coat even though it takes longer.
If you want to add other designs then either scan them in or design them with a graphics program and again print them out on overhead projector film then cut the stencil out, mount the stencil, mask off the area around the stencil to prevent overspray and repeat as often as needed to build up your design. Even complex designs can be built up this way.

At one stage I was going to do something like this but I got too busy at work. Sometime in the future I might get the dragon Paarthunax from Skyrim painted onto my gaming box because I like dragons :-D
