600 mhz compaq deskpro 256mb ram, 10gb hd
    windows 2k

I have all the latest service packs, and security patches.

The Problem is when installing the verizon software the program says this system dosn't meet the minimum requirements of 233,128mb, and 100mb of hd. On top of that, it says what it has is 0mhz, 0mb, and 0 hd.

One of the verizon people said there is a problem with the registry, any ideas ?

You should not need the VZ software to connect to DSL. If your modem handles the PPPoE username and Password, it is as simple as plugging in the computer, and letting it get a DHCP IP from the modem. If the modem does not handle PPPoE, and is just a "Bridge", you would have to setup a PPPoE connection with XP in Networking Connections.

Right and that part works perfectly. I need the verizon software to migrate the password for MSN, so I can use MSN for e-mail etc.

You should not need the VZ software also for MSN. Just keep the MSN box for all other, and the VZ mailbox for personal.

Well that would be great if I could install MSN, but I can't because I need a computer to install the verizon stuff on so I can get an MSN account.

The only thing about MSN, is that you cannot "Migrate" to VZ dsl. What you should do is start sending emails to those people you want to notify about your new email, and change those over that you need to, to the new email addy. The only thing that the VZ software would possibly do, is send out a email to everyone on your address book notifying you of your new email addy.

I don't know how else to explain this. MSN comes free with DSL... SOOOOO without being able to install the verizon software. you can't get the master screen name for MSN.

This is a moot point now, after 6 hours of labor, talked to three morons at Verizon, and talked with one online help. Everyone of these dolts was three feet from the unemployment line, and it was this or McDonalds. I got the same answer from all of them, your computer dosn't meet the minimum requirements. So I cheated, I installed all the software onto my test bench computer, faked it into thinking it was at the customers home, set up msn with the new master screen name and password (all of this on a computer that was slower then the one that didn't meet the requirements.) Then I installed MSN from a disk and used the screen name to set it up on the customers computer. Woo hoo one less thing I have to stress over.
